SpotLock is a pre-dispatch driver verification service operated by LaneLock Technologies, LLC. SMS messages are used only for operational driver verification related to a specific assigned freight load.
1. How consent is obtained
Before a driver's mobile number is submitted to SpotLock, the carrier dispatcher informs the driver that SpotLock will send SMS text messages related to driver verification, identity verification, equipment verification, document requests, verification status updates, and load-related communications for the assigned load.
The driver verbally agrees to receive these SMS messages before the dispatcher submits the driver's phone number.
2. Verbal consent script
The carrier dispatcher reads the following verbal consent script to the driver. The driver verbally agrees before the dispatcher submits the driver's mobile number:
“This is [dispatcher name] with [carrier name]. We use SpotLock by LaneLock Technologies, LLC to verify drivers for your assigned load. With your permission, SpotLock will text a secure verification link and verification status updates to your mobile number for this load. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. Do I have your permission to send these text messages to [mobile number]?”
3. Dispatcher attestation
The dispatcher submission form includes a required checkbox. The form cannot be submitted unless this checkbox is checked:

The driver may reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.
4. What messages drivers receive
Drivers receive operational, load-specific text messages only. Typical message volume is 1–3 SMS messages per assigned load. Messages are not marketing, promotional, or unrelated to the assigned freight load.

6. Opt-out and help
Drivers may reply STOP at any time to opt out. Drivers may reply HELP for assistance. If a driver opts out, SpotLock will not send further SMS messages to that number unless legally permitted and reauthorized.
7. Privacy
Mobile phone numbers and SMS consent records are used only for SpotLock driver verification and related operational communications.
